As used in this part 12, unless the context otherwise requires:

  1. "Political party" means a major political party as defined in section 1-1-104 (22).

  2. "Presidential primary election" means a primary election conducted in a year in which a United States Presidential Election will be held to allocate delegates to national nominating conventions of the major political parties selected in accordance with section 1-4701.
