As used in this subchapter:

  1. (1) “Educational setting” means the employment setting where the licensed employee works, including without limitation:

    1. (A) A public or private school;

    2. (B) An institution of higher education;

    3. (C) An education service cooperative;

    4. (D) The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education;

    5. (E) An adult education setting; or

    6. (F) Another agency or organization that employs licensed teachers for educational purposes;

  2. (2) “Professional development” has the same meaning as the meaning given to the term under § 6-17-704; and

  3. (3) “Teaching experience” means the experience gained while working in an educational setting as a teacher, librarian, counselor, administrator, educational consultant, substitute teacher, or other licensed employee.
