Bleeding control training

  1. (a) Beginning in the 2019-2020 school year, each public school shall provide bleeding control training as a component of a health course to be taught to students in grades nine through twelve (9-12).

  2. (b) The State Board of Education, in consultation with the Department of Health, shall develop the bleeding control training required under this section using instructional materials developed or endorsed by the:

    1. (1) American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma;

    2. (2) National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians; or

    3. (3) Department of Health.

  3. (c) The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education may promulgate rules to enforce this section.
