  1. (a) A person commits an offense under this section if he or she knowingly aids another person by:

    1. (1) Safeguarding or securing the proceeds of an offense; or

    2. (2) Converting the proceeds of an offense into negotiable funds.

  2. (b)

    1. (1) A person violating any provision of this section is guilty of a Class D felony if the conduct of the person aided in violation of this section constitutes a felony of any class.

    2. (2) Otherwise, a violation of this section is a Class A misdemeanor.
