  1. (a) Tickets of admission to a live entertainment event, theatre, musical performance, or place of public entertainment or amusement of any kind shall not be offered for sale by any person over the internet until the tickets have been placed on sale by the venue or entity hosting the event or its authorized agent.

  2. (b) Internet portals or websites shall not allow a person to offer for resale a ticket of admission to a live entertainment event, theatre, musical performance, or place of public entertainment or amusement of any kind until the tickets have been placed on sale by the venue or entity hosting the event or its authorized agent.

  3. (c) This section does not apply to sporting or athletic events.

  4. (d) As used in this section, “placed on sale” means the date and time when tickets are made available for sale to the general public, including without limitation to fan clubs, businesses, and persons for promotional activities.
