  1. (a) A town or city that collects fines pursuant to this subchapter shall retain twenty-five percent (25%) of the fines collected and deposit them into a fund called the public safety fund, to be used solely for the promotion of public safety.

  2. (b) A district court that is funded solely by the county and collects fines pursuant to this chapter shall retain twenty-five percent (25%) of the fines collected and deposit them into the fund, to be used solely for the promotion of public safety.
