  1. (a) Whoever shall knowingly sell or offer or expose for sale, or bring or cause to be brought into this state to sell or offer for sale, or shall have in his, her, or their possession with intent to sell for food, the flesh of any animal dying otherwise than by slaughter, or slaughtered when diseased, or shall sell or offer for sale the flesh purported to be of one animal, knowing it to be of another species, or shall offer for sale or sell any tainted, diseased, corrupted, decayed, or unwholesome meat, fish, fowl, vegetable, produce, or provision of any kind whatever without making this fully known to the purchaser, or shall sell or offer to sell the meat of any calf which was killed before it had attained the age of six (6) weeks, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.

  2. (b) Upon conviction, the person shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500) or by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding six (6) months.
