License and credential — Expiration and renewal

  1. (a)

    1. (1) A license or credential issued under this chapter shall expire two (2) years from the date of issuance.

    2. (2) To renew an unexpired license or credential, the licensee or the credential holder shall apply for renewal on a form prescribed by the Director of the Division of Arkansas State Police and pay the renewal fee prescribed by this chapter.

    3. (3) Upon approval of the application by the director, a renewal license or credential shall be issued.

  2. (b)

    1. (1) A suspended license or credential is subject to expiration and may be renewed as provided in this chapter.

    2. (2) However, renewal does not entitle the licensee or the credential holder, while the license or credential remains suspended and until it is reinstated, to engage in the licensed or credentialed activity.

  3. (c) It is unlawful for a suspended licensee or credential holder or an employee of the suspended licensee or credential holder to operate while the license or credential is suspended.

  4. (d) A license or credential that is not renewed within six (6) months after its expiration shall not be renewed thereafter.

  5. (e) The holder of the license or credential that has been expired for more than six (6) months may obtain a new license or credential only on compliance with all of the provisions of this chapter relating to the issuance of an initial license or credential.
