  1. (a) The county timber inspector is prohibited from purchasing any of the public lands, directly or indirectly, either in his or her own name or in the name of any other person in trust for him or her.

  2. (b) For every tract or parcel of land purchased in violation of this section, the county timber inspector shall forfeit two hundred dollars ($200).
