  1. (a)

    1. (1) At the next regular term of the county court after the filing of a petition under this subchapter, the court shall investigate the matter.

    2. (2) If, on investigation, it appears that a majority of the qualified electors of the county or subdivision, as the case may be, signed the petition and that the notice provided for in § 14-387-204 was given, the court shall make an order prohibiting the running at large of such stock as may be described in the petition in the territory described or in the county, as the case may be, after January 1 after the order is made.

    1. (1)

      1. (A) Immediately after the making of the order, the clerk shall cause copies of it to be posted at every voting precinct in the county, if the order is made for the county.

      2. (B) If the order is for a subdivision, then a copy of the order shall be posted in three (3) of the most public places in the subdivision.

    2. (2) After January 1, it shall be unlawful to permit to run at large, within the limits designated, any animal of the class mentioned in the order.
