Request for school records — Notification of law enforcement officer or Attorney General

  1. (a) When a school receives a request for the records of a child who has been reported missing, the school shall, within five (5) business days, excluding days when the school is closed, after receipt of the inquiry, notify the law enforcement officer or the Attorney General and furnish the name, address, and telephone number, if known, of the person making the inquiry.

  2. (b) The notice shall be by certified mail, return receipt requested.

  3. (c) Any felony-homicide offense under § 5-10-101, § 5-10-102, or § 5-10-104 if the underlying felony is an offense listed in this subdivision (13)(A)(i);

  4. (d) Sexually grooming a child, § 5-27-307;

  5. (e) Trafficking of persons under § 5-18-103(a)(4);

  6. (f) Patronizing a victim of human trafficking, § 5-18-104; and

  7. (g) Sexual extortion, § 5-14-113;

    1. (1) Which is similar to any of the offenses enumerated in subdivision (13)(A)(i) of this section;

    2. (2) When the adjudication of guilt requires registration under sex offender registration laws of another state or jurisdiction; or

    3. (3) If the conviction was for a violation of:

      1. (i) A video;

      2. (ii) A photograph;

      3. (iii) A blog post;

      4. (iv) A podcast;

      5. (v) A transmission or message; or

      6. (vi) An email.

      7. (vii) YouTube; or

      8. (viii) Any other similar format, program, application, or internet service; and

      1. A screen name;
      2. A user identification; or
      3. A user name.
