  1. (a) The State Crime Laboratory Board shall promulgate such policies and rules as shall be necessary to carry out the intent and purpose of this subchapter along with the specific duties and responsibilities set out in this subchapter.

  2. (b) The board is authorized to accept gifts, grants, or funds from persons, associations, corporations, foundations, and federal or state governmental agencies and to use the gifts, grants, or funds for purposes of carrying out this subchapter or for any other purposes not inconsistent with the purposes and intent of this subchapter which may be authorized by the board.

  3. (c) The board is further authorized by this subchapter to enter into contracts, not inconsistent with law, and to do such things as it may deem necessary or appropriate to properly carry out the purposes and intent of this subchapter.
