35-1-408. Compensation of local registrars.

(a) Each local registrar shall be paid fifty cents ($.50) for each certificate of birth, death or stillbirth registered by him and promptly transmitted to the state registrar. If no birth, death, or stillbirth is registered by him during any calendar month, the local registrar shall report that fact to the state registrar and be paid the sum of fifty cents ($.50).

(b) The fee will be paid annually by the county commissioners upon the presentation of a proper claim approved by the state registrar.

(c) No compensation shall be paid under this section to any full-time employee of a state or local unit of government.
