(1) With regard to a material matter or thing relating to any subject investigated, heard, or acted upon by any board of elections or member thereof, or by any election officer, clerk, watcher, inspector of registration, court or judge by virtue of this title, willfully makes any false statement under oath or affirmation; or
(2) willfully makes a false affidavit or swears falsely under any oath required or provided for or permitted by this title, or willfully swears or affirms falsely under an oath required or provided for or permitted by this title—
shall be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
