The Attorney General or an Assistant Attorney General designated in writing and the United States Attorney or an Assistant United States Attorney designated in writing shall have the authority to issue subpoenas, subscribed by them for witnesses, and/or for chattels, books, papers or documents, within the Virgin Islands in the conduct of the investigation of any crime, or in connection with the establishment and enforcement of child support obligations, within their respective jurisdictions.
