All DNA samples collected pursuant to section 4203, subsection (a), must be forwarded to the Director for DNA analysis. The Director may employ independent forensic laboratories to perform the DNA analysis required under section 4203, subsection (a). The Director shall provide for the receipt and analysis of DNA samples and for the filing and storage of DNA records derived from the DNA analysis in the Database. A report of the results of a DNA analysis conducted by the Director, including the profile and identifying information, must be made and maintained at the Department. A certificate and the results of the analysis are admissible in any court as evidence of the facts contained in the certificate and the results of the analysis. Except as specifically provided in this chapter, the results of an analysis must be securely stored and must be treated as and remain confidential. The Director shall promulgate regulations governing the submission, receipt, identification, storage and disposal of DNA samples.
