The Hospital Administrator or Medical Director may accept, deposit and disburse gifts, donations, contributions and bequests to the hospitals and clinics of the Virgin Islands to be utilized or expended by the Hospital Administrator or Medical Director, subject, to the approval of the V.I. Government Hospitals and Health Facilities Corporation, for the purposes designated by the donor thereof. Such funds shall be deposited in a special account in a bank to be selected by the Commissioner of Finance and funds shall be withdrawn on the joint signatures of the Hospital Administrator or Medical Director and the V.I. Government Hospitals and Health Facilities Corporation. Such donations, gifts and bequests shall be in addition to appropriations made for such purposes. The Hospital Administrator or Medical Director, in the discretion of the V.I. Government Hospitals and Health Facilities Corporation, shall be responsible for the maintenance of detailed records relating to the use and disbursement of such donations, gifts and bequests. An annual report regarding the status of special bank accounts created pursuant to this section shall be submitted by the V.I. Government Hospitals and Health Facilities Corporation to the Commissioner of Finance.
