If any animals are imported or brought into, or attempted to be imported or brought into the Virgin Islands contrary to the provisions of this chapter, or of any order or regulations issued thereunder, they may be seized by the Commissioner of Agriculture or any police or sanitation officer, and forfeited to the Government of the Virgin Islands and may be forthwith slaughtered, in accordance with section 2707 of this title.
