  • (a) At the head of the Department, there shall be a Police Commissioner, hereafter in this chapter referred to as the “Commissioner”.

  • (b) The Commissioner shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Legislature, and shall hold office during the continuance in office of the Governor by whom he is appointed and until his successor is appointed and qualified, unless sooner removed by the Governor.

  • (c) The Department shall be administered under the supervision and direction of the Commissioner.
