Wearing body armour in the commission of a violent crime

  • (a) Any person who wears body armour during the course of committing or attempting to commit a crime of violence, as defined in section 2258(a)(2), upon conviction shall be imprisoned for not more than five years and fined not more than $5,000 or shall be both imprisoned and fined.

  • (b) The penalties prescribed in subsection (a) are in addition to those prescribed for the commission of, or the attempt to commit a crime of violence, and the sentence under this section must be served consecutively to any other sentence imposed.
