AED registry; training

  • (a) The V.I. Department of Health must establish an official AED registry for the territory not later than 30 days after the enactment of this Act, which must, at a minimum, provide the location and type of AED. The official AED registry shall be known and may be cited as the “Allan M. Woods AED Registry.” Notwithstanding subsection (b) of this section, the Department must establish location criteria for placement of copies of the official AED registry, and the Commissioner of the Department may negotiate for such additional location placement with any private or public person or entity.

  • (b) The official registry established by subsection (a) must be placed in readily accessible or conspicuous locations at all police stations, fire stations and airports.

  • (c) The V.I. Department of Health must establish requirements for AED training certification and additional registration requirements it deems appropriate not later than 30 days after the enactment of this Act.

  • (d) AED training must be conducted by the American Red Cross or other similar organization qualified to conduct AED training on both the island of St. Croix and the island of St. Thomas.
