  • (a) Cyclists shall always keep to the left, and shall not be found in the center of any street, road or highway.

  • (b) When a cyclist is about to cross a corner of the street, or road, he shall within 20 feet of such corner or crossing, sound his signal, and shall immediately reduce his speed to a minimum.

  • (c) No cyclists shall ride without holding at least one handle of the bicycle.

  • (d) No cyclist shall operate a bicycle upon a public road, street or highway of the Virgin Islands without a safety helmet securely strapped to his head. The safety helmet shall meet the minimum requirements as proposed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) or otherwise approved by the Commissioner of the Virgin Islands Police Department.

  • (e) No person shall operate a bicycle upon a public street, road or highway of the Virgin Islands without adult supervision, unless twelve years of age or older, except that minors under the age of twelve may operate a bicycle upon a public street, road or highway of the Virgin Islands without adult supervision only in residential areas.

  • (f) Cyclists shall be required to make use of appropriate hand signals while operating on a public road, street or highway.

  • (g) The Commissioner of Police may adopt rules and regulations to carry out the purposes of this subchapter.
