United States and Virgin Islands flags; time and occasion for display; hoisting and lowering

  • (a) The United States and Virgin Islands flags shall be displayed on or near the premises of every government building, and on or near the premises of every private and public school.

  • (b) The flags shall be hoisted briskly at sunrise and lowered ceremoniously at sunset.

  • (c) The flags are not required to be displayed on Saturdays, Sundays, or national or territorial holiday.

  • (d) This section shall be deemed to be the official policy of the Virgin Islands, but shall not be enforceable through any penalty sanctions.
