(a) The Virgin Islands Medal of Honor, authorized, created, adopted, and prepared under the Resolution passed by the Eighteenth Legislative Assembly on August 20, 1954, and approved by the Governor on August 27, 1954, is continued.
(b) The Medal of Honor shall be awarded only upon the adoption of a Resolution by the Legislature of the Virgin Islands recognizing a person who has rendered outstanding public service to the People of the Virgin Islands.
(c) The Medal of Honor shall be presented at appropriate ceremonies to be arranged by the Legislature.
(d) Whenever the supply of Medals becomes exhausted, the President of the Legislature may expend from appropriations then available the funds necessary for the preparation of an additional and reasonable number of Medals. The Medals shall continue to be cast in gold, and with the same design as that used in preparing previous Medals, unless a change in design is approved by the President of the Legislature.
