§ 703-20. Separability of provisions

(a) If any section, clause, or provision of this chapter shall be held unconstitutional, or be ineffective in whole or in part, to the extent that it is not unconstitutional or ineffective, it shall be valid and effective and no other section, clause, or provision shall, on account thereof, be deemed invalid or ineffective.

(b) Where any specific section, clause, or provision of this chapter conflicts with any general provision of the statutory laws of this State, laws other than Constitution, such section, clause, or provision of this chapter shall prevail unless the intent of such general statutory provision to amend this chapter is clear.
