(a) The trustees shall appoint the Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Adjustment, and other appointments required by law and this charter.

(b) The trustees' approval shall be required for the Manager's annual appointments of a Village Treasurer/Tax Collector, Village Clerk, Village Attorney, Village Fire Chief, and Village Engineering Consultant. Residents of the Village or a member of the Fire Department who resides in the Town of Essex shall be eligible to hold the office of Village Fire Chief. (Amended 2009, No. M-22 (Adj.
