In case of a vacancy of any elected Town official, such vacancy shall be filled by the Selectboard until the next annual election. The person then elected shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term. If more than one vacancy occurs on an elected board at the same time the vacancy shall be filled by a special Town meeting called for that purpose.
