Upon the payment of an examination fee as set by the council, an applicant for a license who is notified by the council that the applicant has fulfilled the requirements of § 63-17-207 shall appear at a time, place and before such persons as the council may designate to be examined by written and practical tests in order to demonstrate that such applicant is qualified to practice the fitting of hearing instruments.
The council shall give at least one (1) examination of the type prescribed in this section each year and such additional examinations as the volume of applications may make appropriate.
