Consultation on Drugs by Board to Department of Health

The board shall, at the request of the commissioner of health, provide consultation to the department of health regarding drugs to be issued by the department or by a local health clinic.
The department of health shall develop policies and protocols for inventory controls, accountability, repackaging, security, storage and issuance of drugs by state and local health departments. The commissioner shall appoint a state or regional pharmacist to oversee these activities.
The commissioner of health is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations to effectuate the purposes of this section.
