- Part Definitions
As used in this part, unless the context otherwise requires:
- “Establishment clause” means the portion of the first amendment to the United States constitution that forbids laws respecting an establishment of religion;
- “Free exercise clause” means the portion of the first amendment to the United States constitution that forbids laws prohibiting the free exercise of religion;
- “Free speech clause” means the portion of the first amendment to the United States constitution that forbids laws abridging the freedom of speech;
- “Public school” means any school that:
- Is operated by the state, a political subdivision of the state or governmental agency within the state; and
- Receives state financial assistance; and
- “Student” means an individual attending a public school.
