A domestic cooperative's registered agent is the cooperative's agent for service of process, notice, or demand required or permitted by law to be served on the cooperative.
Whenever a domestic cooperative fails to appoint or maintain a registered agent in this state, or whenever its registered agent cannot be found with reasonable diligence, then the secretary of state shall be an agent of such cooperative on whom any such process, notice or demand may be served.
This section does not prescribe the only means, or necessarily the required means, of service on a domestic cooperative.
