(2) The commission shall contract with the Department of State Police to obtain necessary security services. A contract is not intended to preclude the assistance of other law enforcement agencies as the need arises.

(3) The commission shall have the authority to conduct investigations, including the authority to issue subpoenas to compel the attendance of witnesses and documents, to take testimony under oath, to take depositions within or outside the state and to require answers to interrogations.
