All contracts whereby any building or premises are rented, leased, used, or occupied shall become void when such building or premises are used, in whole or in part, for the sale of intoxicating liquors contrary to law, and the lessor, on or after the sale or gift of intoxicating liquors, shall be held to be in possession of such building or premises.
