A person who violates the provisions of Section 77-8-2, 77-8-3, 77-8-14 or 77-8-22 NMSA 1978 or rules adopted pursuant to any of those sections is guilty of a misdemeanor for each head and, upon conviction shall be sentenced in accordance with the provisions of Section 31-19-1 NMSA 1978.

ANNOTATIONSThe 1999 amendment, effective July 1, 1999, rewrote the section, which formerly read: "Any person who violates the provisions of Sections 11, 12, 16, or 26 of this act or rules and regulations made in pursuance thereof, upon his conviction before any justice of the peace or district court in this state, shall be fined in any sum not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500) and in addition thereto may at the discretion of the court trying the case be imprisoned in jail for any period of time not to exceed six (6) months."
