In any election held under Sections 73-18-25 through 73-18-43 NMSA 1978, the Local Election Act [Chapter 1, Article 22 NMSA 1978] shall be applicable except as to the requirement for registration and residence in state, county or precinct as a qualification of an elector in offering to vote.

ANNOTATIONSThe 2018 amendment, effective July 1, 2022, provided that the Local Election Act is applicable to any election held under Sections 73-18-25 through 73-18-43 NMSA 1978, with certain exceptions; in the section heading, deleted "general election laws" and added "Local Election Act"; and after "held under", deleted "this act" and added "Sections 73-18-25 through 73-18-43 NMSA 1978", and after the next occurrence of "the", deleted "general election laws" and added "Local Election Act".
