The department shall pursue the establishment and enforcement of an order for health insurance coverage when a minor child receives public assistance or medicaid or upon application of a custodial or noncustodial parent to the department and payment by the custodial or noncustodial parent of fees required by the department.

ANNOTATIONSThe 2007 amendment, effective June 15, 2007, eliminated references to dental insurance coverage and required the department to take enforcement action against custodial and noncustodial parents.
The 2003 amendment, effective April 8, 2003, inserted "or medicaid" following "receives public assistance".
The 1994 amendment, effective March 4, 1994, deleted "human services" following "required by the" at the end of the section.
