A person who steals a device intended for use in preventing, controlling, extinguishing or giving warning of a fire:

1. If the device has a value of less than $1,200, is guilty of a misdemeanor.

2. If the device has a value of $1,200 or more, is guilty of a category D felony and shall be punished as provided in NRS 193.130.
