- Unlawful to file verified application for order which person knows or has reason to know is false or misleading or with intent to harass adverse party; penalty. [Effective January 1, 2020.]
1. A person shall not file a verified application for an ex parte or extended order:
(a) Which he or she knows or has reason to know is false or misleading; or
(b) With the intent to harass the adverse party.
2. A person who violates the provisions of subsection 1 is guilty of a misdemeanor.
