If no judge attends on the day appointed, or to which court may have been adjourned before 12 m., the sheriff or clerk shall adjourn the court until the next day at 10 a.m., and if no judge attends on that day before 12 m., the sheriff or clerk shall adjourn the court until the following day at the same hour; and so on, from day to day unless the judge, while in or out of the State, by letter or telegram, orders it to be adjourned to some day certain, fixed in the order, in which case it shall be so adjourned.
