44-1-802. Authority of department of justice -- conduct of hearing. (1) The department of justice shall be the authority to hear such charge or charges and render a decision and appropriate order.

(2) The department shall have the power to compel the attendance of witnesses at any such hearing and to examine them under oath and to require the production of books, papers, and other evidence at such hearing and, for those purposes, to issue subpoenas and cause the same to be served and executed in any part of the state.
