An inspector's license may be suspended by the chief inspector, after due investigation and approval by the board, for the incompetence or untrustworthiness of the holder thereof or for willful falsification of any matter or statement contained in his application or in a report of any inspection made by him. Written notice of any such suspension shall be given by the chief inspector within not more than ten (10) days thereof to the inspector and his employer. A person whose license has been suspended shall be entitled to an appeal to the board, as provided in Section 45-23-57, and to be present in person or to be represented by counsel at the hearing of the appeal.
