Sec. 115c.

The office may approve or disapprove the placing of a child in this state in a family home of persons unrelated to the child by a person not a resident of this state or in any family home of this state by an agency or organization which does not have a place of business in this state. Written approval of the proposed placement shall be obtained from the office. The person, agency, or organization shall furnish the office with necessary information regarding the child and the prospective foster parents and a guaranty required by the office to protect the interests of the county in which the child is to be placed. The information shall be forwarded to the county agency of the county in which the prospective home is located, if the judge of probate has given prior general consent to the procedure, or to the director of a licensed child-placing agency, or to an employee of the department who shall investigate the home. If, in the employee's opinion, the placement should be made, the employee shall file an approval with the office. If the proposed placement is or appears to be planned with a view to an adoption of the child under the law of this state by the family with whom the child is to be placed, the prior approval of the proposed placement by the judge of probate of the county of residence of the family is also required. When requested, the office may require supervision of the child in the home until the child is legally adopted or otherwise discharged from care.
