§216. Health Care Liability Retirement Fund

The Health Care Liability Retirement Fund, referred to in this section as "the fund," is established as a nonlapsing fund within the Department of Health and Human Services. The fund consists of proceeds from the sale of liquor operation revenue bonds pursuant to Title 30-A, section 6053. The money in the fund must be used for the purpose of making payments to health care providers for services provided prior to December 1, 2012 under the MaineCare program established by Title 22, chapter 855. When, as determined by the commissioner, there exist no outstanding amounts owed to health care providers eligible to be paid from the fund, the State Controller shall transfer all amounts in the fund to the Liquor Operation Revenue Fund established in Title 30-A, section 6054.   [PL 2013, c. 269, Pt.
