RS 164 - Services furnished by the program centers
A. The health screening and maintenance program centers shall furnish the following services for all eligible persons:
(1) Screening services to consist of participant interviews, complete physical examinations, nursing and social work evaluation, basic health education, case conferences, referrals, and follow-ups.
(2) Diagnosis and referral services to consist of a case conference with the staff and professionals who have worked with the patient after this initial physical examination to determine diagnosis and proper care of the patient and the conducting of follow-ups on each patient to determine if additional care is needed and to make the necessary referrals to the private sector or to a state charity hospital.
B. The health screening and program services furnished at the program centers shall be conducted in a manner similar to the screening and diagnostic phase of the early and periodic screening diagnostic and treatment program under the aid for families with dependent children program conducted by the office of family security of the Louisiana Department of Health.
C. The nature of the services furnished at the program centers shall be structured in such a manner that the relationship of an elderly person with his physician or other professional is not impaired or replaced.
