RS 1026.3 - Definitions
As used in this Part:
(1) "Authorized prescriber" means a licensed physician, dentist, or other health care provider authorized by law to prescribe drugs, medications, medical devices or appliances, and health care regimens.
(2) "Medication attendant" means a person who, pursuant to this Part, has completed a medication administration course approved by the Louisiana Department of Health, passed an examination for medication attendants approved by the Louisiana Department of Health, and received a current certification from the Louisiana Department of Health.
(3) "Department" means the Louisiana Department of Health.
(4) "Licensed nursing home" means a facility established and licensed pursuant to R.S. 40:2009.3.
