24-464. Same; contents of petition.
The petition provided for in K.S.A. 24-463 shall describe the territory proposed to be so annexed and so incorporated into the drainage district by sections or subdivisions of sections, according to the government survey or by metes and bounds, and state that the lands and property therein embraced are subject to injury and damage from the overflow of some natural watercourse, naming or describing it; that the improvement of the channel of such watercourse, the construction and maintenance of levees, drains, ditches, dikes, jetties, riprap or other works are necessary to prevent such overflow; and that such improvement or works will be conducive to the public health, convenience or welfare. And such petition shall contain a prayer that all of the territory within the boundaries defined in the petition be incorporated into and become a part of such drainage district. If any lands to be included in said territory annexed to the original drainage district shall lie within the limits of any city it shall be sufficient to describe the same by their appropriate number as lots or blocks or parts of lots or blocks.
