12-152. Contracts for electric lighting of streets, hospitals and other public health facilities and for furnishing electric power to hospitals and other public health facilities.
The governing body of any city in this state shall have power to enter into contracts for a term of not to exceed ten (10) years with another or others for the electric lighting of streets and/or highways or parts of streets and/or highways and for hospitals and other public health facilities maintained or provided by or under supervision of such cities, for the grounds and premises of such hospitals and other public health facilities and for electric power to such hospitals and other public health facilities subject to the provisions of this act, whenever in the judgment of the governing body of any such city the lighting of such streets and/or highways or parts thereof or of such hospital grounds or the grounds of other public health facilities and premises and the furnishing of electric power thereto and therefor is reasonably necessary to promote the public convenience, welfare and safety, and if of special benefit to the property affected.
