Sec. 9. The auditor of state shall, on the first day of April of each year and quarterly thereafter, distribute the funds set aside in accordance with the provisions of section 7 of this chapter or the portion of them as reported to the auditor of state, to the general fund of the treasury of the city or town on the basis provided for in this chapter.
