It is also fitting that, as a symbol of the guarantee of the sanctity of the home, the flag be displayed from every home on that day and that, as a symbol of the guarantee of freedom of worship, public recognition be made in all places of worship on June 14th or on the Sunday preceding.

The State of Illinois is proud to be the home of many teachers who have retired after spending most of their lives rendering this priceless service. (b) The fourth week of May of each year is designated as Retired Teachers' Week. Sec. 133. Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) Awareness Day. May 17th of each year is designated as Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) Awareness Day. Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children, and DIPG is a highly aggressive brain tumor that affects roughly 300 children a year in the United States. DIPG Awareness Day is to be observed throughout the State as a day to encourage the people of Illinois to help increase public awareness of this particularly aggressive form of cancer affecting children.

The month of November in each year is designated as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Month to be observed throughout the State as a month for the people of Illinois to support efforts to decrease the prevalence of COPD, develop better treatments, and work toward an eventual cure through increased research, treatment, and prevention.

The first Saturday of each month is designated as Eat Local, Buy Illinois Products Day to promote local food initiatives and Illinois agribusiness and to encourage residents to re-invest in the local economy. The Department of Agriculture's Illinois Product Logo Program shall assist in increasing awareness and sales of Illinois food and agribusiness products.

The second full week of April of each year is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators' Week, to be observed throughout the State as a week to honor the dedicated men and women who answer calls for help at 911 centers across the country. These call takers and dispatchers provide the first critical contact for those in need of emergency services. Telecommunicators access, monitor, and disseminate information of critical importance to the safety of public officials and success of public safety goals.

Sec. 195. Illinois Statehood Day. December 3rd of each year is designated as Illinois Statehood Day, to be observed throughout the State as a day to commemorate December 3, 1818 as the day Illinois became the 21st State to join the Union. Each year, within 10 days before Illinois Statehood Day, the Governor shall issue a proclamation announcing the recognition of Statehood Day, and designate the official events that shall be held in honor of Illinois obtaining statehood on December 3, 1818.
