- This chapter is a general law and confers broad and comprehensive powers upon municipalities, counties, and other political subdivisions to acquire (either separately or jointly) lands for construction and expansion of airports. City of Atlanta v. Murphy, 206 Ga. 21, 55 S.E.2d 573 (1949) (see O.C.G.A. Ch. 3, T. 6).
Chapter to become part of charter of all municipalities.
- This chapter applies to all municipalities, counties, and other political subdivisions of the state, and would, in effect, become a part of the charter of all municipalities of the state. City of Atlanta v. Airways Parking Co., 225 Ga. 173, 167 S.E.2d 145 (1969) (see O.C.G.A. Ch. 3, T. 6).
No cause of action stated when no showing of arbitrary abuse of powers.
- Petition by residents and taxpayers for injunction, which shows that closing and relocation of a section of state highway is for purpose of extending a municipal airport, fails to state a cause of action, when an arbitrary abuse of powers granted by this chapter is not shown.
